A huge thank you to our year 10 Sports Leaders, who delivered a very successful sports festival for Year 5 students on 14 March. Year 10 have been working hard throughout this term, learning how to be successful leaders. They organised and planned a really fun afternoon for Year 5, relishing the opportunity and responsibility of organising the event and were all outstanding leaders on the day.
Year 5 brought bags of enthusiasm - they loved interacting with Year 10 and seeing what the older students get up to at the Senior school. We all left the fields beaming after such a fantastic afternoon!

In mid-March, pupils in Years 3-7 embarked on their annual Mini Marathon which takes place on the Heath, reminiscent of the renowned London Marathon's route through Blackheath. The event was met with excitement and a hint of nerves amongst the girls.
Year 3, brimming with anticipation for their first experience, were joined by Year 4, eager to demonstrate their previous year's accomplishments. Meanwhile, Year 5 pupils embraced the challenge of an additional lap with a mix of nerves and enthusiasm. In our exciting annual PE Discovery morning for Year 1, pupils were able to experience a morning filled with hockey, netball, team building, and orienteering! Year 1, wide-eyed with excitement, eagerly absorbed the experience of being a KS2 girl at Blackheath High. As they marched over to the sports field, mirroring the steps of their older peers, they embraced the opportunity to dive into the huge array of sports offered at our school.
Reflecting on the event, this Year 6 pupil offered a poignant observation, "Together, we inspire the future!". Indeed, it was a heartening reminder of the power of mentorship and shared experiences.
We are confident that the Year 1 pupils departed with newfound enthusiasm for physical activity and a glimpse into the camaraderie that awaits them in the years ahead. To the parents who joined us, we hope the morning provided insight into our school's ethos and the supportive environment we nurture. Thank you so much to our fantastic Year 6 pupils for leading the way.

Another fantastic residential with our U11s on the annual Condover Hall trip. Despite the sky opening at times, the team’s winning opportunities also opened up and brought a whole new meaning to 'making a splash'! The U11A team secured a respectable 7th place out of 20 teams, advancing to the Cup tournament against tough competition. The U11B team achieved a commendable joint 3rd place out of 21 teams, reaching the semi-finals before being eliminated.
Throughout the tournament, all teams displayed admirable sportsmanship and determination. Special recognition goes to Jessie and Ava for earning the Players' Player of the Weekend award, and to Bea and Isla C. for being awarded the Coaches' Player of the Weekend award.
This weekend always enables lots of bonding and great après-sport and we had plenty of evening entertainment with staff and students getting stuck into some fun table tennis competition.

On 28 February, Year 4 faced The Pointer School in a hockey fixture, putting in a great effort, despite losing both games. Nevertheless, they enjoyed a rewarding afternoon applying skills that they have been learning in Games lessons.
