Welcome From Our Head of Early Years

A warm welcome to Blackheath High Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), where girls begin their exciting educational journey in an environment tailor-made for them. These critical early years shape the person your daughter will become, and we’re committed to providing her with a joyful, enriching foundation to that future. We are here to give your daughter the very best start in life, as we support her to reach every milestone, achieve every ambition and learn without limits. 

Girls quickly feel at home in the warm, friendly environment of our school, with its specially designed indoor and outdoor learning spaces and dedicated Forest School. Through a rich curriculum and our engaging co-curricular program, we inspire, excite, and challenge our young pupils to go beyond expectations, offer endless opportunities for them to explore the world around them, nurturing independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. And as every Early Years class is guided by both a teacher and a teaching assistant, each girl will receive the attention, care and encouragement they need to flourish. 

With our small class sizes and low pupil-teacher ratio, we offer the very best start for young girls with curious minds and a love for learning. Our teachers are highly qualified, experienced, passionate Early Years specialists; and our dedicated Forest School teacher adds something truly special, guiding children through outdoor adventures that build confidence, resilience, and a love for nature—qualities that will grow with them for life. We’re also proud to be a Tooled Up Education school, giving families access to a fantastic digital library filled with parenting tips and activities to support your daughter’s educational journey every step of the way.

As an all-through school, your daughter will have the continuity and support of the Blackheath High community from age 3 all the way to 18.
