On Thursday 6 May, Year 5 came up to the Senior School to become detectives in our CSI Day.
Throughout the morning they discovered the difference between finger print patterns and made thumb casts using dental alginate & casting powder to see how professionals take casts of criminal marks. As the sessions continued, they tested different pen inks for 'poison' and learnt how to write encrypted messages.
The girls had a great time being detectives at our Senior School. Here are some of the quotes from the girls:
"I can’t wait to ask Owen on Friday for Sodium Chloride and Ethanol Acid with my Fish and Chips!"
"I really enjoyed putting my thumb into the silicone."
"I liked everything but especially the finger prints!"
"It was really cool being at Senior School!"
"It’s been a really fun and interesting morning!"
"The thumb with points was amazing as it was something I couldn’t do at home!"
"It was really interesting learning about the different PH levels between acid, neutral and alkaline."
"I learned that everyone has a unique fingerprint, even twins!"
'Today I really enjoyed making the Caesar’s wheel and cracking the codes!"
