On one of the hottest days of the year so far, both Reception classes set off to the High Elms Environmental Centre near Bromley in a luxury coach. Temperatures may have soared but our resilient girls were fully prepared, covered in sun cream, fully hatted and clutching water bottles. Not one girl complained and all had a lovely time either walking through the cool shade of the woods or pond dipping. Because of the recent strange weather, we were lucky to see thousands of very immature tadpoles in the pond - much later than usual. It was a lovely day and the girls returned to the coach exhausted and ready for a short siesta before returning to school.
