On Tuesday 27th June, Year 2 were treated to a workshop about the Victorian household.  It was called ‘This Old House’ and we were introduced to the types of people who would have worked there. The great part was that every one of us got to dress up as one of the characters, wearing Victorian-style clothes.

It was great fun but above all, we learned so much about the different jobs that people did, such as kitchen maid, scullery maid, housekeeper and butler, to name just a few. We were amazed at how young the poorer children were when they had to leave their homes and go to work.
