Following on from this year’s exciting Maths Week theme of money, the Junior School had the pleasure of welcoming Abi Foster, ex-GDST girl and founder of Elent Education, for a fascinating day of financial workshops.  

Girls from Years 1-6 experienced bespoke workshops to improve their understanding of key financial education principles including budgeting, saving, debt, credit scores and maintaining a healthy money mindset. The lessons stimulated interesting discussions and it was encouraging to hear that these conversations continued with parents at home.  

Maths Ambassadors Yamini and Reeddhima said, “Abi explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and she was very passionate about Finance. The most important thing we learnt was the 50, 30, 20 rule. Abi advised us to spend 50% of our future salary on necessities, 30% on nice things and to put the final 20% into a savings account. This was a useful way to remember how to best spend and save money.” 

For all year groups, it was a day to remember and provided another opportunity to build on key life skills for the future.
