Back to Jurassic times for Reception

Our Year 13 students have enjoyed a busy - and sometimes challenging - last few months at Blackheath High School as they prepared themselves to navigate the exciting world of higher education and I’m sure they are all relishing the idea of some well-deserved breaks to sunnier climes!
They have impressed me with their grit and determination through this busy examination period - since the pandemic, the exam period has grown in length and intensity, with some students sitting more than one examination on the same day! Our final year students prepared incredibly well and showed great resilience in tackling their examinations, somehow always managing to come to school with a smile on their faces. I feel sure that they will get the results they deserve.
On Friday 28 June we held our annual Sixth Form Ball, which saw the evening blessed with some rare sunshine! The students came looking out of this world to enjoy a delicious and similarly ‘beautifully dressed’ three-course meal by our brilliant catering team (Accent Catering) and some amazing dancing! It was an excellent opportunity to unwind, relax and come together as a community to celebrate the many successes of the students and anticipate those to come.
We look ahead to results day with bated breath and wish the students huge luck with their upcoming A-level results. The destinations of students really reflect their individuality, as do their subjects: English Literature, Physiotherapy, Geography, Art, Textiles, Medicine and Psychology – to name a few!
We wish our outgoing class of 2024 the best of luck for their future endeavours – and keep in touch! The world, and the GDST Alumnae Network, is your oyster.
