The world – or at least the Quad – became our stage on the last week of term, as Year 8 devised, created and performed their version of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Donning colourful flower garlands, costumes and fairy wings, students stepped eagerly into the roles of the magical Titania, Oberon and Puck. Our noble band of minstrels accompanied the action with live keyboard, violin and saxophones. Meanwhile, hard-hatted marching Mechanicals performed a lively rendition the play-within-a-play, 'Pyramus and Thisbe'. Snout's Wall was particularly memorable!
Luckily the rain held off and the play ended happily with the Athenian lovers harmoniously paired, and the hardworking Year 8s proud of their achievements. Well done, all!
