Our Year 9 students have worked incredibly hard on the topic 'Bioenergetics: photosynthesis' in Biology this term. To implement their learnings they carried out a fun practical to investigate the effect of light intensity on the mean rate of photosynthesis, using algae beads which they made themselves. The practical was comparable to making bubble tea! However, this was definitely not safe to drink. Using a pH indicator solution, they will now be investigating the rate of photosynthesis.
