Blackheath High School are delighted to be hosting a webinar for alumnae and parents on Building and Maintaining Your Professional Network with guest panellist Sunday Times Bestselling Author Otegha Uwagba.
This virtual panel event welcomes speakers from across the GDST Community to discuss the concept of the ‘professional network’, what it means, and how to break down this – perhaps elusive – concept into achievable objectives that build over time.
Panellists will talk about networking in a modern context, drawing on their experience to share stories, resources and practical tools to build your professional network.

Otegha Uwagba – Author, Little Black Book
Otegha is a writer, a speaker and a consultant. She is a bestselling author and journalist and has written three books including the Sunday Times bestseller Little Black Book: A Toolkit for Working Women which has since been translated into ten languages.
In 2018 she was selected for the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, and in 2021 the Sunday Times highlighted Otegha as one of seven young writers “changing the literary world”.
Between 2016 and 2020 she ran Women Who, a community for creative women, set up with the aim of helping women think, work, and live better by providing digital content and hosting regular events and workshops.

Elle Shoben, George P. Johnson’s Head of Talent and Culture, joined from not-for-profit Social Finance, where she was HR director, following nearly twenty years’ experience in corporate talent management across PwC, Reuters and Barclays Investment Bank. In this new board-level role Elle supports the ongoing development of all staff members in a rapidly increasingly talent pool.
Jacqueline Ashe – Head of Alumnae, GDST [confirmed]
After a long career in corporate communications and the world of coaching and leadership development, Jacqueline is now helping to build and support a women's network - the largest of its kind in the UK.
Jacqueline is Director of JPS Coaching and Consulting, a London-based consultancy offering training, workshop and facilitation service to help businesses grow.
