On Saturday 22 January, Duke of Edinburgh Bronze students came into school to participate in their expedition training day.
They learned how to pack their backpacks to optimise space and efficiency and use their trangia stove,
as well as how to set up their tent (and fold it away again).
Their map reading skills were also put to the test as they planned their route from Dorking Station to the campsite, and back again.
After the training day, they're almost ready to go. All that's left to do is get some expedition kit and get fit for their 10km hike with a big backpack!
