The Music and Drama Tour of Venice and Verona was incredible. We had a packed programme of exciting visits as well as performing our own concert at Chiesa San Stae, in the Santa Croce area of Venice – with a view over the Grand Canal. It couldn’t have been more picturesque. On arrival, and our first orientation tour of Venice, we found posters advertising our concert which was thrilling. The food was amazing and we enjoyed eating together at the end of every day communing over the packed events of the day. We had a mask-making workshop and a glass-blowing tutorial, we visited the Basilica of San Marco and had a tour of the world-famous Teatro La Fenice.
After our exciting concert which was well-attended by enthusiastic and welcoming Venetians, we had a day in Verona. Here we saw Juliet’s balcony and home, as well as the arena and finally a real highlight was a performance of “Norma” in Verona’s staggeringly beautiful Opera House. There was an excellent gelateria selling wonderful ice-creams to round off our visit and we couldn’t have been more pleased. There was so much to do, so many gorgeous shops and hidden gems off tiny canals and above all the glorious backdrop of Venice.
