The BIG DRAW event was an exciting and creative collaboration between all of our Year 8 students with some invited Year 5 pupils from Faraday School and All Saints’ C of E Primary School joining together with a large group of our own primary school aged pupils.  Throughout the day, a fantastic collection of artistic activities took place, designed to challenge perceptions and celebrate the art of drawing. Links to our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) initiative were made through the use of processes, stimuli and starting points from the fields of laser-cut technology, the built environment and the natural world; with the resulting work forming an evolving exhibition throughout the day.

It was great to see all the students immersed in so many creative processes and I was particularly impressed by how they all managed to grasp the ideas so quickly and go on to produce such refined and impressive work. Thank you to all those that took part and we will certainly look to run this event next year.
