Year 13 Biology students are studying Biotechnology.
Enzymes were immobilised in alginate beads as part of an A-level Biology Practical Activity. We used these immobilised enzymes to study the difference in activity between free and immobilised enzyme activity at 40°C and 80°C.
In our next A-level practical we will use immobilised lactase enzymes to produce lactose-free milk.
