The Shine project started again on Saturday 21 September.
We were delighted to invite thirty Pupil Premium children from Brindishe Lee, Brindishe Green and Brindishe Manor to take part in an exciting session of T-Shirt Printing and Pop Art with Mr Branch, Mr Masters and Mrs Aspden.
Students were given a series of objects that they arranged and photographed using digital cameras and iPads. They then manipulated the images using Photoshop - maybe adding filters, changing colours, adding shapes and text. They then printed these images onto iron on transfer paper and used the heat press to apply to a T shirt. Therefore creating an "only one in the world" personalised item.
Over the course of seven weeks, the Year 5 children from the Brindishe Schools will be working with a group of Year 12 students and members of BHS staff on a whole range of exciting activities from First Aid to Pizza Making, Mirror Making to Coding, alongside a trip to the Cutty Sark.
Now in its fifth year, the Shine project continues to go from strength-to-strength and I am delighted that we are able to have such a positive impact in our local community.
