We were delighted to open our doors to almost 100 alumnae of Blackheath High School for a summer garden party with street food, cocktails, patio games and face glitter artist.
The reception welcomed back alumnae who were pupils and staff at Blackheath High School from 1946 – 2019. Fun and games were embraced by all, and there was something for everyone at the archive display with memorabilia such as school uniform from the 1940s as well as press cuttings from the 1980s and school magazines from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.
Teachers and guests rekindled memories of times at school, subjects taught and how the school has changed shape – but not spirit – over the years.
Speaking to the alumnae, Mrs Chandler-Thompson thanked them for their continued support of our school and for being a constant source of inspiration to current students and staff by sharing their stories, giving guest lectures and getting involved in careers events.
Our wonderful photographer for the evening – Sarah Halls, also an alumna – has set up a photo gallery of photographs from the evening here.
Any former students or staff who would like to hear about future events are encouraged to email Ms MacLeod at S.MacLeod@bla.gdst.net.
