Year 6 had a smashing time in Boulogne, visiting some of France’s cultural sites.
Upon our arrival, we visited a local beach and enjoyed some team building activities. The following day consisted of a visit to the Etaples Military Cemetery, a trip to an authentic French market and participation in some on-site activities.
The next morning the temperature had dropped but nonetheless we were very excited for the day’s pursuits. We thoroughly enjoyed the town trail and the aquarium was a definite highlight.
Thursday, the penultimate day, was jam-packed with more entertainment, including an enriching visit to an expanding chocolate business whose roots lie in Ecuador. We had an educational talk about the process of the production of chocolate. Following this, we went to see a family-run goat farm. We got the chance to create some bread masterpieces, milk goats and hold them. We ended the day with a traditional dinner of crepes and escargot which many of us were reluctant to try. To say goodbye we enjoyed a farewell disco.
We came back exhausted, but with so many wonderful memories!
