Each year the students and staff elect a Head Girl Team. The Head Girl Team includes the Head Girl, two Deputy Head Girls and two Senior Prefects. These students play an integral role in the running of the school working with younger students as well as organising and supporting school events. The Head Girl Team represents the school at both in school and out of school events.
This year the selection process was fiercely contested and the girls not only had to survive a rigorous interview and presentation but also demonstrate their commitment and service to the school.
Our new team from our Sixth Form are Head Girl, Ingrid, Deputy Head Girls Olivia and Apple and Senior Prefects Natasha and Subee.
Last week the team held a whole school assembly, where they shared their aspirations and experiences with their peers. They are very much looking forward to working with the student body and also to guiding the youngers students, throughout their time in post.
Ingrid is studying four A levels: English, French, Latin and History. She has always been involved in many aspects of school life, from debating to running Feminism Society. As an accomplished student Ingrid would like to read History at Oxford or Cambridge – she has yet to decide.
Olivia is studying A levels in Chemistry, Maths and Geography. She is also completing an EPQ on whether we should be worried about ancient diseases being released from the melting permafrost.
Apple is studying Biology, Psychology and English Literature. She is a good role-model for the younger girls and has shown commendable commitment to the Wings of Hope charity.
Subee would like to study Medicine and is completing A levels in Maths, Chemistry and Biology. She runs Dissection Club with her friend Amy and has just returned from the Rosalind Franklin STEM conference at Newnham College, Cambridge.
Natasha is frequently to be seen playing in the school orchestra, singing in the choir and encouraging her peers whilst she does so. She is an accomplished linguist, taking A levels in English, French and Spanish.
Exciting times ahead!
