Much discussion amongst the Sixth Form was provoked on Monday 25 February by a Wollstonecraft Lecture given by Angela Saini, an independent science journalist and author who explained “How Science got Women Wrong”.
Basing her talk on her latest book, Inferior, Angela challenged our preconceptions about the gender wars that rage in Biology, Psychology and Anthropology. She asked whether science can truly be impartial and encouraged the students to diversify their perspective on scientific research.
The debate continued afterwards when Year 13 Biology students were given the opportunity of a short seminar with Angela.
