Bellydance is a Middle Eastern art and has been practised by women since ancient times. It is fun, invigorating and grounding, teaching women to enjoy and control their body.
Ella and Emily from our Middle Eastern Society gathered together a group of students to take part in a workshop led by a fantastic professional dancer, Nina Lubowitz. Students learnt basic classical moves and technique, and practised putting moves together in short choreographed routines set to Middle Eastern music. Nina was very impressed by the enthusiasm and skills our students demonstrated. The atmosphere was great and the girls drank pomegranate juice and tried Turkish delights to further enhance the experience.

"We particularly enjoyed the workshop as we were encouraged to relax and not to take it too seriously, we would also like to thank Mme Fortin for sourcing our teacher Nina and enabling us to enjoy such a fun event." Ella and Emily
