We were very proud to see our very own Lois, age 13, starring in the new John Lewis & Waitrose TV ad launched this month in the Great British Bake-Off ad break.
The TV ad sees primary schoolchildren put on an epic and surprising performance of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. We love how Lois stakes centre stage as a fearless rock-astronaut.
Lois, who also starred in the West End’s School of Rock, had a great experience making the advert with a top London advertising agency. She spent a day at RAK Studios recording the soundtrack and three days on set filming. It involved dozens of children, the cinematographer from La La Land, award winning music director (who was commissioned to write the music Tim Peake took into space), and an award winning (and very eccentric) director.
Lois, who is in year 9, said: ”It was a unique experience! And so hot in the recording studio where I recorded my bass guitar piece.” Lois started playing drums in Year 3, and bass guitar in Year 6, and plays in the Blackheath High School orchestra and Rockband.
Watch the ad here. Well done Lois!
