‘If you don’t ask, you don’t get’ was among the key messages at the GDST Inspire East conference, held in Churchill College at the University of Cambridge.

The conference, held for Year 12 pupils, welcomed speakers such as Hayley Bernard (an entrepreneur who has recently challenged gender stereotypes and herself with expeditions across the Arctic Circle); Jane Marshall from Imperial College who discussed how to make the ‘right Higher Education choices for you’; as well as provided break-out workshops for students on stepping out of your comfort zone, and ‘how to win an argument’.

Blackheath High School Sixth Form students were inspired by the underlying message of stepping outside of one’s comfort zone, and enjoyed the gathering of their GDST colleagues from Bromley, Northampton and Norwich High School’s.
