Congratulations to all of our GCSE and A-Level artists who showcased a fantastic and diverse collection of work at our annual Art, Textiles and DT exhibition. Once again, there were outstanding displays from around 60 students made up of both coursework and examination projects produced by all our students who have studied Art, Textiles and DT this year.
One of the noticeable features of this year’s exhibition was the tremendous range in scales that students had elected to work in, from some incredibly intricate jewellery designs right through to many large scale paintings, drawings and several ambitious installations. All GCSE Art and A-Level Textiles students also presented the garments that featured in the Fashion Show earlier this year with Year 11 displaying their individual designs, whilst Year 12 + 13 showcased their entire collections.
Mr Branch, Head of Art, said: "It was great to see so many students, families and friends attending this year’s exhibition to celebrate all the efforts and achievements. We know that we are really lucky to work with such talented and hard-working students, but it still amazes us how creative and innovative they are when you finally see all their work come together. Thank you to everyone for their help and support, especially the students who came into school between exams to help set up their displays."
Our next event will be the KS3 Art and DT Exhibition on the 17 September, which will be the first show to be held in our new exhibition space. More details will be issued in the Autumn term.
