Amid great excitement we boarded the coach to take us to the National Gallery on Tuesday 13 March. As we rounded the corner of Whitehall, the coach was filled with squeals of excitement as Trafalgar Square loomed into view.
After hanging up our coats, we separated into two groups led by two guides to look at three pictures chosen to fit our topic of 'materials' but it was the paintings of Whistlejacket by George Stubbs that gripped the girls more than any other.
As ever, the girls were brilliantly behaved and a pleasure to be with. They listened so well to each of the stories behind the selection of chosen paintings - well done!
