On Thursday 11 January, the U15 Netball team (Dilmi, Sunanda, Tilly, Marta, Emma, Lauren, Jasmine, Ela, Shona, Esther) attended the Greenwich Schools’ Netball Tournament at Eltham Hill School.
Our first opponents were the U15 team from St Paul’s and they were tough! We had played them previously but on this occasion, they were particularly impressive and unfortunately, we lost 6-1. Our next fixture was against the U15 team from St Thomas Moore. This turned out to be a great match; we were focussed and came out on top, winning 6-0. We then played Eltham Hill's U15 team and had another convincing win, 5-1.
Facing a knock-out round, we regrouped. Game one was challenging, against Eltham Hill U16s. We gave it everything and won 4-2, hanging in there until the final whistle and making it through to the final! Our opponent turned out to be St Paul’s U15 team (again), our first match of the day. We knew it would be a very competitive game and we matched them goal-for-goal. But with 20 seconds to go, St Pauls’ scored meaning they beat us 4-3. We were so proud of our efforts and impressed that we were runners-up in the tournament. A great afternoon of netball from every player – well done!
