On 8 January, Kit Harris, Director of tour company 'Next Stop Iceland', hosted the Wollstonecraft Programme lecture on 'Iceland: The Earth is alive'. As well as being a travel consultant, Kit is a disaster historian and his lecture outlined the volcanic past of Iceland, concentrating on the volcanoes we will see as part of our Iceland tour next month.
The girls were fascinated to hear about the formation of these volcanoes and how each eruption had unique and devastating consequences. Thankfully, Kit also explained the extent of Iceland's disaster management plans, thus putting the students as ease in regards to any possible eruptions that may occur imminently!
