Well done to Year 2 who got into the Christmas spirit by wrapping presents for children less fortunate than themselves. The idea was initiated by Blackheath High parents who felt that their daughters should experience the pleasure of giving as well as receiving gifts at Christmas time.
Our parents organised cards, gifts and wrapping materials, and came to school to work with the girls as they sorted the presents into age groups and wrote messages on the Christmas cards. They explained about the Metropolitan Police Christmas Tree appeal that they were supporting and emphasised the difference their gifts would make to each child. The event was great fun and was very well organised by our parents.
