In our sports round-up for 27 September, we catch up with the results of our U12 hockey team and U15 and U16 netball squad. A special mention for our dedicated U14 netball players who stepped up to play with the older girls who were short of players due to a busy sporting week at Blackheath High.
U12 a and b Hockey v Colfe’s
In their first hockey match of the season, the U12 Hockey team played three games with lots of rotations. The girls showed a lot of improvement throughout each game with the girls showing more confidence and understanding - well done!
Final scores: 4-0 to Colfes (First match), 0-0 (Second match), 1-1 (Final match)
Player of the Match: Soraya
U15 Netball v Eltham Hill
The U15's had a steady first two quarters, matching Eltham goal for goal, resulting in a 2-2 draw at the end of the 2nd quarter. In the 3rd, they stepped up their game and started pulling away (5-3 to Blackheath High) but it wasn’t until the final quarter where they really began to shine. Excellent passing and control was equally matched with fantastic defending, leading us to a victory!
Final Score: 9-3
Player of the Match: Marta
U16 Netball v Eltham Hill
The U16's had an equally amazing match. Every pass was accurate and controlled, interceptions were made, and there was outstanding dodging and driving into space to receive the ball, making it very difficult for Eltham to find their feet resulting in a well-deserved win.
Final score: 13-2
Player of the Match: Shona
