Women Of The Future Ambassador Reception

Year 12 students Emma, Evie, Stephanie, Dilara, Enay and Ariel enjoyed an action-packed afternoon of inspiring speakers and energetic networking at the Women of the Future Ambassador Reception, held at the prestigious Lord’s Cricket Ground.

After an enthusiastic welcome from writer, broadcaster and author Alix Fox, students heard from a diverse range of women: Bryony Waugh, Head of Environment (Tesco) and Lottie Birdsall-Strong, Head of Youth Strategy (England & Wales Cricket Board) before an intensive Mingle Bingo session. During the second half of the event, keynote speeches were delivered Natalie Black CBE, Group Director (Ofcom) and Chelsey Sprong, Head of Sustainability (Beazley) and the truly inspirational Pinky Lilani CBE DL, Founder and Chairman of Women of the Future Programme. We were fortunate enough to speak with Pinky during the network event and were struck with her energy, enthusiasm and sense of purpose. Her message of ‘If I can do it, you can!’ was both typically modest and very motivating!

In addition, Emma, Stephanie and Evie benefitted from a 1:1 CV surgery session with experts from the Ambassador programme. It was terrific to see BHS students networking with such assuredness and chatting to many of the Ambassadors who had generously given up their time to help our young women of the future. Thank you to the WOTF team for arranging such a great event and to the catering team who supplied some inspired cricket-themed canapés!
