Our Year 9 have had a busy start to the year deciding on their GCSE options. To help with the decision-making process, they have attended taster lessons and taken part in an Options Fair, where they had the opportunity to talk to their Year 10 & 11 peers, who did a great job of marketing their subjects and answering questions.
As part of our all-through ‘Futures’ focus, our Head of Futures Ms Day presented to Year 9 on the various opportunities within school to develop their skills, explore future career options and help make choices about their pathways. One such fantastic resource is Unifrog, a brilliant platform where students can log their skills, explore careers with first-hand insights, compare university courses, apprenticeships, and Further Education courses – all with the view to making the strongest possible applications and achieving future success.
Key to supporting our students in building their skill sets is understanding the growing demand for the Top 10 skills needed for 2030 (according to World Economic Forum and Forbes) - see gallery image. These top skills are something that we will hear much more about in our upcoming Futures SuperSkills event on Tuesday 26 March.
