On a beautiful summer evening in June the annual Sixth Form Ball took place. The Ball is such a lovely opportunity for students and staff to get dressed up and have a great time. The evening began with parent and teacher drinks, an excellent opportunity for Year 13 parents to say their fond farewells to the teachers and the school where their daughters have spent such an important time of their lives.
Then the students arrived, everyone looked amazing in brightly coloured dresses and suits. Everyone had a massive smile on their faces as they walked in, clearly extremely excited for the evening ahead. We all made our ways to the tables to begin our dinner. The Year 12s and 13s chatting away, singing along to the music, and enjoying some truly delicious food.
After dinner, everyone moved to the dance floor. The dancing was made so much more enjoyable in the beautiful surroundings: the luminous moon, twinkling fairy lights and brightly coloured LEDs made an unmatched atmosphere. Highlights included the crowd-pleaser songs when everyone was singing at the top of their voices and dancing away, including the teachers!
As the night drew to an end, it was quite bittersweet, with Year 12 students were saying goodbye and wishing luck to their Year 13 friends. Nobody seemed to want to leave the party, we had about five different ‘last songs’ before the music was finally turned off. All in all, the Ball was a magical and wonderful time - truly a night to remember!
