As part of their Eggstravaganza topic learning about life cycles, Nursery pupils enjoyed some special visitors for almost two weeks.
Our guests arrived as a clutch of eggs, which everyone could watch day and night via the ‘hatching cam’. After three days the chicks began to hatch! It was a special experience watching the tiny chicks emerge from the eggs. They grew quickly and by the next day, the Nursery girls were able to watch them out and about doing ‘chick PE’. By Monday the chicks were big enough to hold.
Everyone was a little sad when they left us to continue their life at a petting zoo, but we all agreed that they couldn’t live in Nursery forever, because by the end they were trying to fly!
