Year 3 have been learning about the rich history of our school this term, culminating in an exciting visit to the school archives at the Senior School last week. We began with a Q&A session with Year 12 History students, who graciously answered all our questions about why they chose to study History, including a few curveballs about favourite extinct animals. We then had the opportunity to peruse the extensive archive collection, which included photographs, the original school registers dating back to when the school was founded in 1880, school newsletters and workbooks, most of which had been generously donated to the school by former pupils.
After lunch with Senior School students, Year 3 had the opportunity to tour the school. We were so impressed with how kind and accommodating the Senior School staff and students were. Highlights of the afternoon included meeting the guinea pigs and stick insects in the science labs, an impromptu drumming session in the music room, popping in on the Sports Scholars’ Coaching Workshop taking place in the fitness suite and having the opportunity to view the impressive clothing collection for the Senior fashion show.
Thank you to everyone who made our Junior School pupils feel so welcome.
