I am delighted to introduce our first ever Futures e-magazine, Launchpad. Launchpad will keep you updated with all things careers-related: news, events and opportunities. We decided that we wanted to share with you all the interesting and exciting things that are happening in the Futures Department. Careers provision in schools has evolved over the past few years and at BHS we are keen to meet the needs of every pupil through a varied and stimulating careers programme. For example, Year 10 and 11 students now undertake aptitude assessments, careers questionnaires and receive detailed careers feedback interviews to help them make more informed choices.

Since September, our Careers Prefects and Careers Ambassadors have made a terrific contribution to the Futures Department, collating articles for Launchpad, liaising with their form as well as leading a careers assembly. We hope you enjoy reading Launchpad and that it provides an insight into both the busy and dynamic world of the Futures Department, and the opportunities provided to each student at Blackheath High School.
