Well done to all our Year 7 & 8 students who performed at the annual Blackheath High School ‘Poetry by Heart’ final in November.   

All students were challenged with learning and reciting a poem to their class, with the finalists invited to perform their poems to the whole of Years 7 & 8 at a special assembly. A team of judges praised all the students for their highly engaging performances and named the overall winner of Blackheath High School Poetry by Heart 2022 as Filippa (Year 8) who delivered a powerful and moving recital of Casabianca by Felicia Hemans. The runner up was Demi-Su (Year 7) who gave an atmospheric performance of Walter de La Mare’s The Listeners. Well done, all!
