Our Year 12 students have volunteered to lead SHINE masterclass sessions for Year 5 students from local primary schools. The SHINE masterclasses focus on delivering Saturday workshop sessions to local students, to show education as being accessible and enjoyable to all, particularly those students from less advantaged backgrounds.
To support our sixth formers with planning their masterclass sessions, two members from the Royal Institute (RI) delivered training on different types of activities, presentation skills and classroom management.
The Year 12s produced lots of fantastic ideas and are excited to start planning their sessions in Enrichment.
A little bit about the Royal Institute: they are an independent charity connecting people with the world of science for over 200 years. Key events and activities that they offer include:
Live events with world leading thinkers at the Faraday Museum
Livestreamed events on the Royal Institution YouTube channel
L’Oreal young scientist centre laboratory

Their world-famous Christmas lectures
