Year 1, Year 5 and Year 6 girls have been exploring printmaking techniques. The younger girls have made prints of London transport, whilst Year 5 and 6 have made unique prints inspired by local houses.
As part of the Year 1 Creative Curriculum focus on 'The UK', we have been learning about London and different forms of London transport. Using a range of materials, girls explored how to print poster paint shapes and use these to make compositions showing various forms of transportation. From double-decker buses to the Tube, bikes and black cabs - each picture showed great initiative.
The Year 5 and Year 6 girls created original polystyrene printing plates, from detailed sketches. In their lessons with Miss Hamburger, our specialist Junior Art teacher, the girls were very impressed with the results they achieved using printing inks and bright paper.
