This half term we have been busy working together across the Junior and Senior school on re-establishing and launching our school values. Our students have been forthcoming in sharing their thoughts and have collectively contributed to the project which binds us together as a community. I am looking forward to working with our girls across all year groups to ensure these threads run through everything we do and reflect the heart of our school.
This week I had the pleasure of attending one of my favourite events of the school year, the Fashion Show. This was a perfect display of our values with girls working across year groups collectively and being bold in their design and overall presentations, including impressive use of digital skills. It was also a delight to speak with Eloise in Year 6 this morning to see that she had designed an outfit for Miss Ndagire which she was wearing at the time; I love to see this expression of creativity across the whole school!
We have had an incredibly full few weeks covering our diverse curriculum - from this morning’s Year 5 assembly on Greek history, to Ms Lewis’ moving assembly on the Holocaust at Senior School, to the UK Languages Olympiad and our geographers out in the field. We have also welcomed Year 3 into Senior School to explore our school’s history through our archives, little ones from our local community for our Junior School Step into Space event and we have hosted the semi-final of this year's Chrystall Carter GDST Public Speaking competition. We have had many sporting success too, including residentials and GDST competitions. Here, in Highlife, you can read much more about what has been happening across the whole school and look out for some of our leading lights too - Lauren, Carlotta and Sofia.
I hope the girls have a good rest over the half-term break – except those going out on the Berlin and Ski trips, I know they will be too busy exploring to rest!
As we reach the halfway point of the school year, I am incredibly proud of all that our girls have achieved so far and look forward to seeing them refreshed and full of energy for the second stretch.
Happy half term!
Best wishes,
