Despite the summer holidays being just around the corner, there has been no sign of slowing down at Blackheath High School.
At Junior School, students have been busy winning competitions such as the GDST Laurie Magnus Poetry Prize, Years 5 and 6 have returned from their residential trips, Year 4 has been competing in upcycling competitions and the whole of Junior School has been participating in sports days and National School Sports Week, which have been full of energy and cheer!
At Senior School, we held our annual GCSE and A-level Art Exhibition which was, as usual, beyond exceptional. It was fantastic to welcome families and staff from across the whole school, including some of our wonderful Alumnae. I hope that our younger students from Junior School felt inspired by the pieces on display. You can see some of the brilliantly engaging snapshots of the event below. If you were unable to attend do look out for more coverage in our final issue of Highlife at the end of term.
In other notable events for Senior School - apart from the big exams finale of course - we have had an astronomy trip to Tenerife, where students went stargazing over half term, and a number of our Sixth Formers recently volunteered at the wonderful Bees for Development garden party fundraiser, attended by President of the charity, Queen Camilla. As always, they represented our school with kindness, courage and determination.
As we start to near the end of term, I will be writing to you shortly with details for the start of the new term and academic year.
I hope you manage to enjoy some of the lovely weather outdoors this weekend.
Best wishes,
Mrs Natalie Argile
