Sixth Formers of Blackheath High School, and from the wider Sixth Form GDST and local community, are invited to join us for an exciting, challenging and thought-provoking day focused on sustainability, as we interrogate some of the most complex questions of our time. Students can learn from our expert speakers, take part in workshops and share ideas for how we might plan for a more sustainable future.
Don't miss the opportunity to hear from a number of specialists in their field, including:
Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas, Professor of Marketing & Sustainable Business, British School of Fashion, GCU London, who has a background in luxury fashion and extensive experience teaching in Asia, the US and Europe. An internationally recognized educator and thought leader and advocate for transformative responsible global education, she researches and teaches sustainability and ethics as sources of value for fashion businesses and individuals. Natascha is a Blackheath High School alumna and also a governor of the school.
Pam Barbato, founder of Action Net Zero. Pam is a sustainability specialist focused on helping brands address social and environmental challenges. Her company Action Net Zero supports communities on their net zero journey, connecting businesses, individuals and community groups to tangible solutions and building regional engagement ecosystems and accelerate behavioural change.
As part of this forward-thinking event we will also be holding a clothing makeover workshop with Mrs Gilbert – our Senior School Art & Textiles teacher – where students will learn how to upcycle a pair of old jeans into a new garment.
The Women In Leadership conference will be held on Wednesday 1 March at 10am-4pm in the Senior School – see the poster below or those around school for more details.
