We have had a busy start to term with mock exams for Year 13, dance showcases for Years 3-6, interviewing over 200 applicants for our remaining places for the next Year 7 intake, Shakespeare performances, Mandarin workshops, a Year 6 & 8 Architecture workshop and a Teatime concert to name a few of our recent events. It was a pleasure to invite our Year 5 students to the annual CSI morning at Senior School and Year 4 & 5 parents to our 'Into the Senior school' evening this week. As always, our girls are very busy learning and enjoying new experiences.
It is wonderful to be able to welcome parents in to learn more about our school and meet with the people who work with the girls every day. In our planning, we are looking for more opportunities to do so and to allow you to engage, and to be able to support you in supporting your daughter.
There is a lot going on behind the scenes at school too. We are currently building our new scholarship programme, Girl EmPowered, planning a series of parents lectures on important issues such as managing anxiety in girls, and providing additional opportunities for girls to stretch themselves across the whole school, through a greater programme of academic competitions.
Finally, the interviews for the next Head at Blackheath High are ongoing and there will be an announcement in the next couple of weeks, which I am sure will be welcome news.
I hope you enjoy this edition of Highlife and if there is anything in particular you would like to see more of, please email us.
Happy Chinese New Year to those who have been celebrating recently and have a great weekend.
Best wishes,
Mrs Argile
