Dr Ellie Cannon
Alumna of the Year
The GDST Alumna of the Year award recognises the many varied achievements of our alumnae. This year’s winner, announced on 28 November, is Dr Ellie Cannon from Newcastle High School for Girls; an NHS GP who uses her profile as a broadcaster and health writer to champion public health, particularly levelling up intergenerational women’s health. Trailblazer of the Year went to South Hampstead’s Dr Grace Spence-Green, a junior doctor working to challenge the narratives surrounding disability, medicine and identity. Every one of the winners and nominees is inspirational; view the full list here.
If you would like to nominate yourself or another Blackheath High School alumna for this accolade, we’d love to hear from you. Email us at alumnae@bla.gdst.net. The winner gets the opportunity to be interviewed for the alumnae magazine GDST Girl for Life, and is awarded £500 to donate to a charity of their choice.
