Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas
Class of 1982
Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas is Professor of Marketing & Sustainable Business at the British School of Fashion, GCU London. She left Blackheath High School in 1982, went on to gain several degrees - including in Economics and Education - and has gone on to have a high-level career in sustainable fashion.
An internationally recognised educator and thought leader and advocate for transformative responsible global education, she has extensive experience teaching in Asia, the US and Europe. Her research includes sustainable fashion; social enterprise and responsible business; cultural heritage, consumer behaviour and international fashion marketing; promoting sustainability literacy in support of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. She is a Senior Fellow of the HEA Doctor of Education; and Fellow of the RSA in recognition of her work promoting sustainability in fashion education. She has co-authored several books on sustainability, and is a keynote speaker at conferences in China, the US, and Europe and a contributor to industry and media pieces on fashion business and consumer behaviour.
In her spare time (!) Natascha is a governor of Blackheath High School. Here we talk to her about her stellar career, her time at Blackheath High and her advice for young people today.
